A wedding is places and dates: getting ready at the flat, ceremony at the venue, chaos at the after-party. A festival weekend is places and dates. A year of your kid’s life, a summer of Sunday hikes, three months of a food obsession across one city — all places, all dates, all sitting in your camera roll being seen by no one.
Drop any of those into Afterglow and the same machinery works: it groups the photos into chapters, lays out the pages, interviews you for the story, and gives you a book, a link, or a reel at the end.
There was one honest gap: maps. A route map is the soul of a travel book, but a wedding album doesn’t need a map of the hotel. So we made maps a choice — the Maps off switch in the book editor turns them all off, and every chapter opens with a photograph instead. Same book, same story pages, no cartography. Flip it back whenever you like; nothing is lost either way.
And if your photos have no location at all — normal for proper cameras, and for anything saved from Facebook or WhatsApp — Afterglow just asks. It groups the photos by day and you name the place once per day; from there everything works exactly as if the camera had known. So whatever kind of day it was, Afterglow can rebuild it.
